01 — The London edition
Record Excel London and the selected show day
Grand Designs Live's official current pages list the London edition from Friday 30 April to Monday 3 May 2027 at Excel London, Royal Victoria Dock, 1 Western Gateway, London E16 1XL. Check the organiser's final visitor guide for the hall and entrance nearer the show. FCET records the London edition, selected date and current ticket information together. That distinction matters because the official site also lists a separate Birmingham show. A Grand Designs Live booking without the city and edition would leave the chauffeur with an incomplete event identity.
The event focuses on self-build, renovation and home improvement, with exhibitors and expert talks in the programme. A consultation, meeting or scheduled talk can set the arrival target when the visitor provides it; otherwise the confirmed ticket day and requested entry time lead the plan. Professional visitors and homeowners may have different objectives during the same show. Each booking identifies the passengers, their first commitment and the person authorised to change it, keeping a client meeting separate from a family visit or supplier schedule.

03 — London, not Birmingham
Keep the edition visible throughout the itinerary
The journey record uses Grand Designs Live London and the ExCeL address on every relevant movement. It is not combined with the Birmingham edition, the Ideal Home Show at Olympia, or Futurebuild's professional built-environment programme at ExCeL. A later meeting with a designer, supplier or contractor is added as a separate address. The show name remains attached to the ExCeL sector, allowing the onward business or home visit to keep its own timing, passengers and carried material.
Drawings, folders, material samples, day bags and hotel cases are considered with the full passenger count. The busiest sector can be the return after visitors have collected information or purchased items, so vehicle choice follows the fullest declared load. XL may suit a small group with more material, while First Class can serve one or two visitors with lighter belongings. Bulky products, fragile displays and commercial goods are described before confirmation and assessed separately from the passenger service.

05 — Service on the day
Show research and the onward plan stay connected
The travel record keeps the selected London show day, passenger group, expected samples and later address together, while the ExCeL venue information governs the final pedestrian approach.
06 — At ExCeL London
Confirm the final public-road approach
FCET uses the Excel address and current organiser guidance to check a practical public-road meeting reference for the booked time and gives the lead passenger the final walking direction. The return reference is confirmed before the group leaves the show and can be adjusted when current road or venue conditions make another public point more practical.
FCET checks the 30 April–3 May 2027 London edition, ticketed day, passenger names, collection addresses, expected samples and onward destination. A new consultation or supplier appointment is added only after its confirmed time and effect on the journey are understood. Journey cost follows the agreed car and movements. Tickets, show content, hall operation and controlled access remain governed by Grand Designs Live, Media 10 and ExCeL London, while FCET manages the passenger itinerary confirmed for the booking.
