Heathrow passenger planning

Which Heathrow terminal does your chauffeur need?

Keep the operating flight, current terminal, direction of travel and passenger contact together so the final approach leads to the right handover.

01 — Four current terminals

Start with Terminal 2, 3, 4 or 5

Heathrow's current passenger guide covers Terminals 2, 3, 4 and 5. A chauffeur booking should name the relevant terminal rather than treating Heathrow as one collection point. The terminal determines the signed road approach and the practical passenger handover at the end of the journey. Use the operating flight details for the date of travel and compare them with the airline's current information. A flight number gives the booking a specific movement; an airline name alone does not. If the itinerary changes, send the replacement flight and terminal promptly. The four terminal photographs are dated views, not current signage or meeting-point instructions. For a departure, provide the collection address, travel date, operating flight, terminal and the time the passenger wants to reach departures. Add every intermediate collection before the pickup time is discussed. The road plan must include boarding and loading as well as the final airport approach. Describe all passengers and luggage, including cases, pushchairs, mobility equipment or unusual items. The information supports a suitable vehicle discussion before confirmation. Keep travel documents and essential cabin belongings accessible so the party can leave the car without reopening packed luggage at the set-down.

02 — Arriving at Heathrow

A landing is not the passenger meeting time

For an arrival, FCET can use flight tracking for the recorded flight, but the aircraft timing does not show when a particular traveller will finish the airport process. The passenger still needs to reach the agreed public location and follow the contact instruction supplied for the booking. Airport meet and greet provides a name-board contact at the agreed public arrivals point after the passenger completes airport formalities. Give the passenger mobile number as well as any organiser contact, and decide which recognisable name should appear on the board before travel.

The useful principle

Terminal 2, 3, 4 or 5 is not a minor label; it defines the final approach and passenger handover.

03 — Meeting location

Use the current instruction for the named terminal

Heathrow publishes terminal-specific public arrivals meeting locations. Check the current airport guidance and the booking message because a meeting place remembered from an earlier trip may be stale. Terminals should not be treated as interchangeable, even when the onward destination is unchanged. The passenger should keep the supplied phone available after completing airport formalities. If contact is delayed, remain with the agreed process and tell the chauffeur before moving between exits. The organiser can help only when the booking contains current numbers for the people actually travelling. An airline update does not guarantee that a separate chauffeur booking has changed. Send the revised operating flight, date and terminal directly to the service. State whether the traveller is departing or arriving, because that affects the handover instruction attached to the correction. When an assistant books for someone else, both people should receive the essential update route. The passenger needs the meeting information; the organiser needs a clear way to supply a genuine itinerary change. One current version prevents the chauffeur from acting on stale terminal details.

06 — Choose the matching page

Continue with the terminal-specific guide

Choose the Terminal 2, Terminal 3, Terminal 4 or Terminal 5 page that matches the current flight, then use the Heathrow overview for the wider airport-transfer service. Each terminal page adds the relevant approach and handover context for that part of the airport. The useful final check is simple: confirm the direction, operating flight, terminal, passenger contact, luggage and onward address in one message. That brief gives the chauffeur the details needed to prepare for the correct airport handover.
