01 — Current edition
Use the October 2026 smart-building edition
Smart Buildings Show takes place at Excel London on Wednesday 14 and Thursday 15 October 2026. The organiser presents it as a commercial smart-buildings conference and exhibition covering the information and technology used to make buildings more economic for owners and functional for occupiers. FCET records the selected day and first fixed commitment. A controls session, infrastructure meeting, demonstration, speaking call or exhibitor responsibility supplies the requested arrival target; admission remains with the organiser.
Controls engineers, IT and digital-infrastructure teams, property leaders, workplace managers, consultants and suppliers may follow different programmes. Each instruction names the passengers, collections, first engagement and authorised contact. A shared hotel departure can use one vehicle when the first commitments align. Separate cars preserve an earlier speaker call or technical meeting without forcing the wider team onto the same schedule.

02 — Service on the day
Building disciplines keep distinct commitments
The movement record retains each controls, digital-infrastructure, property or energy group with its first Smart Buildings Show commitment and complete onward address.
03 — Intent boundary
Distinguish smart systems from wider construction
The show focuses connected building systems, including automation, controls, data, digital infrastructure, energy efficiency and workplace management. Digital Construction Week addresses digital processes across the built environment, while Futurebuild has a wider sustainability and construction remit. The booking therefore records Smart Buildings Show by name and retains the relevant technical commitment. A later property visit, consultant office or client dinner is a separate movement with a complete address and time.
Laptop bags, plans, small sensors, controllers and compact demonstration devices are declared with the party. Vehicle capacity follows the fullest confirmed sector, including items collected during the exhibition. Large panels, tools, batteries, stands and freight require separate assessment. Passenger vehicles are not assumed to carry installation equipment or undeclared technical loads.
04 — After the event
The collection sequence at Excel London
- Current ticket and event directions identify the usable public approach.
- The chauffeur confirms a public reference with the lead passenger.
- The party boards only after a lawful position is confirmed.

06 — Excel destination
Treat Excel as a venue, not a pickup promise
The current edition is at Excel London, whose published destination is Royal Victoria Dock, 1 Western Gateway, London E16 1XL. That address identifies the venue but does not grant a particular entrance, stopping point or waiting position. FCET agrees a practical lawful public-road reference for the booked time. The return instruction retains a window, lead traveller and full next address, with the usable reference confirmed before the party leaves its last commitment.
Before travel, FCET checks the 14–15 October 2026 edition, attendance day, passenger names, collections, first commitments, declared devices and onward destinations. Confirmed revisions come from the authorised contact. Smart Buildings Show and Excel London control admission, conference content and venue operations. FCET manages the passenger movements and vehicle sectors it confirms.
